Welcome to the home page of Coastal Foot Clinic, a P.C.
Coastal Foot Clinic was started by Dr. Richard Palecki, D.P.M. in September of 1995 in Houma, Louisiana. Dr. Palecki was born in Delaware and graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture. Dr. Richard Palecki then graduated from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio in 1993 with the degree of Doctor of Podiatric Medicine, (D.P.M.) and completed a two year podiatric medicine and surgical residency at the Carl T. Hayden VAMC in Phoenix, Arizona in 1995. The residency program was centered on a multidisciplinary approach to heal the patient. Since many foot problems are caused by poor bio-mechanics and many illnesses have symptoms that affect the feet, in addition to treating the feet, we work closely with the patient's primary care doctor and refer to vascular specialists and diabetic educators when necessary. We treat any complication of the foot, including peripheral neuropathy, preventative diabetic foot care, ulcers, infections, ingrown toe nails, warts, heel pain and cast for custom orthotics.
After completing his residency in Arizona, Dr. Palecki opened his first podiatry office in Houma, Louisiana where Coastal Foot Clinic began. Over time the main office was moved to New Roads, Louisiana in Pointe Coupee Parish where we are currently located in the medical complex behind Pointe Coupee General Hospital.
